Beginning Saturday, Dec. 16, east end work will impact access to the Sam Fox School and Kemper Art Museum.
Why
On Saturday, Dec. 16, work will begin to create the new south entrance to the underground parking facility. At that time, the fence next to the former Hoyt Drive will be moved closer to Forsyth Blvd. To accommodate this work, there will be no pedestrian access to Givens Hall via the interior path when approaching from the west.
Site preparation will begin Nov. 22.
Where to go
During construction, pedestrians approaching the Sam Fox School from campus will be directed to building entrances along Forsyth.
Accessible entry to the Kemper Museum and Sam Fox School is available from Skinker via the east end construction entrance at the Walker Lot.
Bike parking for Givens Hall will be relocated to the Forsyth side of the building.
A modified drop-off area between Hillman Hall and Givens Hall will remain.
The west exit of Givens Hall will be maintained for emergency egress while the work is in progress.
What’s next
Following Commencement 2018, access to this area will be further impacted. More information will follow in the spring. Stay tuned!
