A year from now, the Washington University in St. Louis community will celebrate new state-of-art buildings, an underground parking garage and an expansive green park. But today, we’re just trying to find our way to Green Hall. Here, Washington University Parking & Transportation offers some tips to get to, and around, campus:
Getting around campus
Campus Circulator: The free Campus Circulator Service runs from 7:40 a.m.-2 a.m. Monday through Friday, and noon-2 a.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Stops are made on the South 40, Mallinkcrodt Center, Millbrook Garage, Skinker Boulevard at Forest Park Parkway and Forsyth Boulevard at Hoyt Drive. Users must show their Washington University ID or contractor affiliate work ID.
WUSTL Mobile app: Download the app for campus maps and construction updates and to track the Campus Circulator and shuttles in real time. The app also provides up-to-the-minute information on a range of topics from campus menus to library collections.
Getting to campus
The new, wider Forest Park Parkway pedestrian and bike bridge is on track to open in late October. In the meantime, members of the university community have several options to travel to campus.
Walk or bike: Pedestrians may cross Forest Park Parkway at Skinker or Big Bend boulevards. Cyclists are advised to take University Drive west to Big Bend Boulevard and then travel south to Forsyth Boulevard.
Metro Green Line: Use your UPass to ride the Green Line, which serves the neighborhoods north of campus. Stops include Lewis Center, the Lofts at Washington University, Greenway Apartments and other locations. The Green Line stops on Skinker Boulevard at Brookings Drive, Forsyth Boulevard at Hoyt Drive, Mallinckrodt Center and Millbrook Garage. The Green Line runs from 7:30 a.m.-2 a.m. Monday through Friday, and noon-2 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Campus2Home Shuttle: The free Campus2Home service runs from 7 p.m.-4 a.m. daily and take passengers directly to their front doors. After daylight savings time ends (Nov. 4), service will start at 6 p.m. Areas served are Skinker-DeBaliviere, the Loop South, neighborhoods north of the Loop and neighborhoods south of campus. The 12-person van picks up passengers at Forsyth Boulevard at Hoyt Drive and Mallinckrodt Center bus plaza. The service departs Mallinckrodt at the top and bottom of every hour until 9 p.m., and then at the top of the hour from 9 p.m.-4 a.m. Users must show their Washington University ID or contractor affiliate work ID. Track the shuttle via the WUSTL Mobile app.
