Completed Projects
Anabeth and John Weil Hall
Weil Hall will be the new front door to the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts. An interdisciplinary hub, Weil Hall will support the school's growing graduate programs and house advanced digital fabrication and technology spaces.
Driving Discovery: Bryan Hall
The first phase of Driving Discovery will include the renovation of Bryan Hall, transforming it into the new face of the Department of Chemistry and adding more than 25,000 square feet of research space.
East End Parking Facility
The facility was designed to fully integrate into the east-end experience. With natural light and high ceilings, the garage provides convenient access to the Danforth Campus, especially east end destinations.
Forest Park Parkway Bridge Replacement
Reopened in November of 2018, the new bridge provides a safe and direct pedestrian and cyclist crossing over Forest Park Parkway to the center of the Danforth Campus.
Gary M. Sumers Recreation Center
The center will add more than 60,000 square feet to the Washington University Athletics Complex, including the Gary M. Sumers Fitness Center.
Gary M. Sumers Welcome Center
The Sumers Welcome Center receives campus visitors with sweeping views of Brookings Hall and offers a starting point for their campus experience. The center houses Undergraduate Admissions and Student Financial Services.
Henry A. and Elvira H. Jubel Hall
Set to house the School of Engineering & Applied Science’s Department of Mechanical Engineering & Materials Science (MEMS), Jubel Hall will offer the infrastructure and research facilities that are key to fostering the interdisciplinary nature of engineering.
Hillman Hall
The Thomas and Jennifer Hillman Hall nearly doubles the Brown School’s footprint, bringing together faculty, staff and research centers — as well as the university’s Institute for Public Health — that were once spread across four locations to the Danforth Campus.
James M. McKelvey, Sr. Hall
James M. McKelvey, Sr. Hall, to be located south of Preston M. Green Hall, will house the Department of Computer Science & Engineering and support Washington University’s data science efforts.
Landscape & Ann and Andrew Tisch Park
Ann and Andrew Tisch Park is the heart of the new east end and will provide a special gathering place on campus. This expanded green space will increase the number of trees and enhance the pedestrian experience by eliminating most vehicular traffic.
Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum Expansion
The Kemper Art Museum expansion includes the James M. Kemper Gallery and connects the Florence Steinberg Weil Sculpture Garden to the new Tisch Park. A reoriented, ground-level entrance means easier access by both the University community and the public.
Olin Library Transformation
With the completion of the Olin Transformation Project, John M. Olin Library has greater accessibility, new study spaces, more areas for collaboration and instruction, and expanded exhibition spaces to highlight the University Libraries’ unique collections.
The Craig and Nancy Schnuck Pavilion
The Schnuck Pavilion brings together a range of dining options, academic programs (including Environmental Studies), the Office of Sustainability, and resources for pedestrian and bicycle commuters.
